Briana Whitehead

Graduate Student

Briana Whitehead is a graduate student in the Program of Molecular Biophysics at the Johns Hopkins University. She received her B.S. in Biological Sciences with honors from Florida State University (FSU) in 2017, and her undergraduate honors thesis was done in the lab of Dr. Timothy Megraw at the FSU school of Medicine. Briana then entered the Fisk-Vanderbilt Masters to PhD Bridge Program where she received her Masters in Biology in 2019 where she worked under the guidance of Dr. Steven Damo for her masters thesis. During her doctoral studies, she aims to use various biophysical and structural techniques to gain a better understanding of how downstream signaling may occur after RTK dimerization and activation. Briana is a joint student with Dr. Kalina Hristova on the Homewood campus.
